Workshop: Linocut printing
Spend the day with Rachel, a local print artist, designing and cutting your own lino tile before printing and overlaying colours.
The morning session begins with a walk around the nature park and gardens at Tyland Barn where you’ll be able to gather items as inspiration for your print. After working these into a design – there will also be ready made designs on hand that you can use if you would prefer – you’ll learn how to transfer your image to a linocut tile and carve it using specialist tools.Experiment by printing overlays in different colours onto paper and greeting cards and at the end of the workshop take your linocut home to use again and again. All materials and printing equipment are supplied. You’ll work on postcard size lino tiles (approx. 15cm x 10cm or 6” x 4”).
Please bring an apron or painting shirt, a packed lunch and a sketch book and pencils.
This workshop is suitable for all over 18s, beginners are welcome.
Please note that a suitable number of attendees are required for this workshop to run. In the event that this number is not reached we may ask if you are able to attend on a different date.
