LOCKDOWN2: Financial Support For Local Businesses

A new grant for Maidstone businesses has been launched by Maidstone Borough Council; for those who have been affected by the second lockdown.

Mid Kent Services Director Steve McGinnes said that the ‘Local Restrictions Support Grant’ is for those registered for business rates in Maidstone who have been required to close as part of the national restrictions. Speaking to Jason McCrossan on Drive Time, Mr McGinnes urged businesses to act quickly as they only have until the 2nd December to apply.

The grant is available for those that meet the criteria:

  • For properties with a rateable value of £15k or under, grants to be £1,334 per month;
  • For properties with a rateable value of between £15k-£51k grants to be £2,000 per month
  • For properties with a rateable value of £51k or over grants to be £3,000 per month
