Charlie Pallett was only 99 when he recorded his first single for charity. Today Charlie is 100 years old.

Living in Maidstone, Kent for most of his life, Charlie recorded the song “Keep Right on to the end of the road” for the wounded veterans charity – Help For Heroes.  The song was originally written by Sir Harry Lauder in memory of his son John Lauder, who was a Captain in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, and was killed in France in 1916 during the First World War.

Charlie’s video was even played on a billboard in London’s Leicester Square in April 2021 to mark his 100th birthday.

Charlie spoke to Jason McCrossan on Maidstone Radio about his charity single.
