Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) will be enforcing news rules at Vinters Park Crematorium and the Maidstone Museum from Saturday 8th August. This news announced as infection rates start to rise again across the UK.

Mourners to Vinters Park Crematorium will now be required to wear face coverings when attending a service.
Sharon Smith Bereavement Services Manager at MBC said:
“We have implemented this new guidance immediately and via their funeral director, have informed the families of all the planned funerals already booked and will be informing anyone who books a funeral that they must all wear a face covering. The maximum number of people currently allowed to attend a funeral has not been changed and remains at 30.”
The list of places where face coverings are mandatory has been increased and the new government guidance requires people to wear a face covering immediately before entering any of these and then keep it on until they leave. The same rules will apply for visitors to the Maidstone Museum

Victoria Barlow, Maidstone Museum Director said:
“The Museum has seen a steady stream of visitors since reopening and we are very happy to implement this new requirement. We are indeed living in very unusual times and if this new measure helps keep our visitors and staff safe we welcome it.”
People are also strongly encouraged to wear a face covering in other enclosed public spaces where social distancing may be difficult and where they come into contact with people who they do not normally meet.
