APPEAL: Maidstone Police Officer Seriously Assaulted: Appeal for CCTV or Witnesses

Witnesses are being sought along with any dashcam footage or CCTV following an alleged assault of a police officer in Maidstone

It was reported that at around 11.15am on Wednesday 21 October 2020 a Kent Police officer was seriously assaulted by two people in Woodside Road in the Mangravet area of Sutton Road. The Police Constable was at the location carrying out enquiries. As he approached a man sitting in a car he was seriously assaulted.  

Two men, both in their 20s, reportedly ran from the area but were located and arrested nearby by other officers who arrived at the scene.  Both men remain in police custody whilst enquiries continue. The injured officer was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged, although will require further treatment.
