About Me

I worked in the fashion industry and ran a gorilla type fashion retail outlet called Designer sales UK for over three decades. Today I work as an artist running projects with marginalised groups and teach textiles. I’m happily married with a family and have a Scottie dog called Isla and three cats.

Getting to know me...

We asked Elaine some very random questions – you may just learn something interesting
Music has always inspired my life and is the magic I need in the everyday. I used to listen to Annie Nightingale back in the day and the infamous John Peel and currently find Jo Whiley so inspirational. Becoming a DJ is one of the many dreams I have had for a long time so getting the opportunity to volunteer on the amazing Maidstone Radio, sharing my stories and the music is just the best thing ever.
I really do like all genre’s of music but my favourites have to be soul and funk, 70’s and 80’s pop.
I spent my youth in and around Maidstone and today what I love the most is the people. I ran an art project recently where I took a stand in Fremlin Walk and invited the general public to come and join in with an art project – the response was amazing, such friendly and open people here.
